Warranty, Terms and Conditions for Frame Only Purchases
1. Frame Kit Builds, Responsibility & Warranty
Velduro frame kits are supplied as high-performance component systems
intended for assembly into complete bicycles.
Velduro warrants the quality and conformity of all components supplied by Velduro, including the frame, motor system, battery, and associated electrical systems, in accordance with the terms of this Warranty and applicable law.
Where a frame kit is assembled into a complete bicycle, responsibility for the
completed bicycle rests with the party undertaking the build. This includes
responsibility for:
- the selection and compatibility of all non-Velduro components
- the correctness and quality of assembly
- the safety, performance, and fitness for purpose of the completed
bicycle
- compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards
Where assembly is carried out by a dealer or other professional, that party is considered the manufacturer of the completed bicycle.
Where assembly is carried out by a private individual, that individual assumes responsibility for the completed bicycle.
Velduro strongly recommends that all frame kits are assembled by qualified
bicycle professionals.
This Warranty does not cover defects or damage arising from:
- incorrect or improper assembly
- use of incompatible or unsuitable components
- unauthorised modification
- use outside the intended category or design limits of the product
Customers should retain details of the build specification and components
used to support any warranty claim relating to Velduro-supplied parts.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
2.Compliance CE / UKCA / EN
Regulatory Compliance and Conformity
The parties acknowledge that a Velduro frame kit does not constitute a
complete bicycle and is not, in itself, a finished product placed on the market.
Upon completion of a bicycle using a Velduro frame kit, the party undertaking
the assembly shall be responsible for ensuring that the completed bicycle
complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including but
not limited to:
- applicable EN and ISO bicycle safety standards (including ISO 4210 and
any applicable e-bike standards) - relevant UKCA and/or CE marking requirements, where applicable
- product safety legislation in the jurisdiction in which the bicycle is
placed on the market - all requirements relating to labelling, technical documentation, and
conformity assessment.
The assembling party (including any Dealer) shall:
- ensure that the completed bicycle meets all applicable conformity
requirements prior to sale or use - affix all required markings and labels (including manufacturer
identification) - prepare and retain appropriate technical documentation
- ensure that the bicycle is safe and fit for its intended purpose
Velduro’s responsibility is limited to the conformity of the components supplied by Velduro and does not extend to the completed bicycle unless Velduro is the party that has undertaken the final assembly.
3.Allocation of Responsibility and Limitation of Liability, Frame Kit
Builds
The Customer and/or Dealer acknowledges that Velduro supplies frame kits as component systems only and does not control or supervise the final assembly of any completed bicycle unless expressly agreed in writing.
Accordingly, upon assembly of a frame kit into a completed bicycle:
- the party undertaking such assembly shall assume full responsibility for
the completed bicycle as manufacturer; and - Velduro shall have no responsibility for the completed bicycle beyond
the components supplied by Velduro.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Velduro shall not be liable for any loss,
damage, cost, or claim (whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise)
arising directly or indirectly from:
- the assembly, specification, or configuration of the completed bicycle
- the use of third-party components
- any failure of the completed bicycle to comply with applicable laws or
standards - any modification, misuse, or use outside the intended design category
- any act or omission of the Dealer, builder, or end user.
The Dealer (where applicable) agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified
Velduro against any claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from:
- the assembly and supply of completed bicycles
- any failure to comply with applicable regulatory requirements
- any breach of its obligations under this Agreement
The Customer and/or Dealer further agrees to maintain appropriate records of build specifications, components, and conformity documentation sufficient to demonstrate compliance and to support any product liability or regulatory enquiry.
Nothing in this Agreement shall limit or exclude:
- liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence
- liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
